Faces of Ambition: Rihana Jordin Crowl
From faith to entrepreneurship, Rihana’s story is a reminder that comfort zones don’t create bosses.
Based in San Antonio, Texas, Rihana is balancing her roles as a college student, volleyball player, and business owner. What started as a love for coffee turned into something bigger — a mission to serve her community through her very own coffee shop inside her church.

What do you do?
I started my own coffee shop in my church.
What’s something you’re currently working on or building that means a lot to you?
Definitely my coffee shop. I’m trying to get it to be open throughout the week.
What inspired you to start (or keep going) in your lane?
I love coffee, and sometimes coffee shops don’t make coffee the way I like it. So I decided to try making my own coffee, which sparked the idea for me to start my own coffee shop — and I’ve built on that idea ever since.
What’s a moment you’re proud of—but rarely talk about?
I was the Inaugural Junior Teen United USA.

What’s something you’ve overcome that shaped who you are today?
Being around the wrong crowds. Definitely now I surround myself with good, uplifting people.
Who or what keeps you grounded when things get hard?
JESUS!! All the time — anything I am going through or anytime something amazing happens in my life, Jesus is always the answer.
Finish this sentence: Right now, I’m focused on...
My college classes and playing volleyball.
What’s one quote or phrase that speaks to how you live?
Proverbs 3:5 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not depend on your own understanding.”
If someone’s watching you for motivation, what’s one thing you’d want them to know?
That it’s not always easy, but when you are focused and keep your mind on Jesus and keep striving, there will always be a way. Don’t let your fear keep you in your comfort zone — when you step out, that’s when you start to feel more proud and confident in yourself.

“Don’t let your fear keep you in your comfort zone — when you step out, that’s when you start to feel more proud and confident in yourself.”
